How to Make a Hanging Pot Herb Garden

I live in a rowhome in Philadelphia with a small teeny tiny backyard. It measures about 10 feet by 14' and is surrounded by concrete pad and 3 concrete cinder block walls. I wanted to add a little warmth to the space by creating a feature wall with hanging plants. I saw Jenni Yolo at … Continue reading How to Make a Hanging Pot Herb Garden

Last Spring Michael and I took a vacation to San Francisco, Yosemite Valley and Sequoia National Park. Finding it very difficult to order affordable black kitchen cabinets. Either it’s custom or a wood stained look or reaallly dark brown. If anyone has a source LMK! I’m also open to buying plain untreated bases that I can paint myself. Painting myself would be fun since then I can do a cute detail on the backside of the peninsula.. I’m thinking fluted or beadboard. What do you think!?
Vinyl sheet floors are stripped! 🎉 We rented a floor stripping machine from Home Depot, rented a Uhaul to bring it and our lumbers to the house, bought a manual scraper and went to town. Most of the floors peeled right up with the machine, but there were certain chunks that we couldn’t get a good edge to start the section with so it was good to have another tool. We started off basically chiseling it off with a wonder bar and a hammer. Tip: take off all your molding first before beginning the project. If you need the stripper for the full 24hrs you might waste time doing that part. Michael and I did about 600 sf of this in 6-7 hours.
We framed a wall! Or two or three.. 😅 If you hear anyone talking about how crazy construction prices are right now ITS ALL TRUE! I got quotes for 2x4x10s that were up to $15 a board. I ended up going with Home Depot since they had the best prices and I could rent a truck for a total of $23. (60) 2x4x10s came to $753.40.
