While our home feels a bit chaotic right now, I know it’s just in its “transformation season.” We’ve been putting off home projects for a while—every spare penny and ounce of energy went toward planning our wedding.
It was important to us to have the wedding of our dreams, especially after dating for eight years. It felt like the perfect way to honor our life together. We got married at a beautiful stone mansion by the water—it was literally a dream. Not only were our finances fully allocated to the wedding, so was my physical time and design energy. Between my full-time job and wedding planning, there wasn’t much left to give by the end of the day.
So, naturally, our home renovation progress took a bit of a backseat.
During that time, we did manage to make some headway: working a little on our primary bathroom, getting our bedroom to a livable state, and giving our guest bedroom a quick refresh.
The guest bedroom had mostly been untouched since we added the paneling and accent wall. We were storing our 72″ bathroom vanity for our primary bathroom in here and it was taking up a lot of space. Not to mention how much clashed with the aesthetic I had imagined for the room. 😉 Once we moved the vanity out, the space finally felt like it could breathe—it had room to be what it needed for us.

We rearranged the bed frame to align with the back wall, finished painting the trim and walls, swapped out broken roller shades for some incredible, budget-friendly blinds from Amazon, and gave the wood floors a fresh coat of paint to match the walls. Eventually, we’d love to continue LVP flooring into this room, but for now, this quick refresh works perfectly while we prioritize other projects.
It’s such a great feeling to look into the room from the hallway and finally see a space that feels intentional. Everything there is meant to be—for now—and that small sense of order makes all the difference.
