I’ve been recently making small changes to our kitchen to make it feel more like us and play around with colors while we wait for a larger kitchen remodel. The first was painting all the cabinets and changing out the hardware, which you can read more about in this post.
We have formica beige countertops now which seem to be a couple decades old. They aren’t in bad shape, but they aren’t exactly our style. The quickest and easy fix was just to cover them up. With an inexpensive roll of contact paper you can easily update your countertops as well!
This is the exact paper I chose. If I were to do this project again I may try to find a roll that is a little wider so it would completely cover the back piece as well as the main countertop. Mine was exactly the width, so I had to make several additional cuts to cover the front edge and the back piece.

I put together a few more options for you in the links below. You’re going to want to measure the depth of your countertop and make sure you the smaller dimension is at least the same as the depth.

- White Marble -24″ x196″ for $33.99/roll
- Black Marble -30″x120″ for $45.99/roll
- Wood – 26″ x 78″ Roll for $29.99/roll
- Beige/Grey Marble – 24″ x 78″ for $37.99/roll
- Soapstone – 36″ x72″ for $59.99/roll
- Quartz – 24″ x 196″ for $41.78/roll
